Bebe Tracker: Six Months Old

She can finally eat stuff! She loves poi and hates green beans (baby food green beans that is. I won't give up hope on the real thing). She seemed okay with carrots and squash, but wouldn't eat mashed up banana. We tried giving her rice for some terrible reason and she gagged and spit up. We gotta wait for teeth on that, even though it was mushy and soft. Speaking of which, her two bottom teeth are coming in SHARP! She loves to bite my fingers, which is pretty painful. She also loves to put her fingers in my mouth, which is funny but I have bitten her on accident before. :/ 

She doesn't seem to like the changing table anymore because she hates laying her head down! She always wants to be up and looking around and standing up (with help, of course). She walks with just her hands in mine (strong abs!). She does a funny little army crawl where she pulls with her arms and pushes with her feet and has just barely been getting up on her knees, but she hasn't crawled on her hands and knees yet. She is still in size two diapers but I don't think that will be true much longer. She's an incredibly sweaty little girl and can't fall asleep without a blanket or thick jammy jams (pajamas), even if it's super hot! I know she's about to fall asleep when her head is dripping, even if she's not moving around at all... I don't understand that. I guess she's working really hard to stay awake and it's mentally strenuous... So she sweats a lot... Haha who knows. Luckily her neck isn't as fat these days so she doesn't smell as badly and has a lot less lint/cheese in her rolls. 

She is a happy, friendly girl who makes friends everywhere we go! She and I flew to Oregon for Christmas (poor Ho'oulu had to work) and she made friends with the lady behind us and across the aisle. (Luckily they were normal and just smiled and talked a little, they didn't try to hold her like so many wacko strangers do. Hate that!)

She's very wriggly and curious. She never wants to hold still and she can't wait to be running around with her cousins and eating what we're eating. She likes to play in her pack 'n' play, which is crazy fun and exciting for like 10 minutes and then she's over it. It's been hard trying to get her to sleep in it since she got used to sleeping in my bed while we were traveling a couple months ago (I always thought I wouldn't want my bebes sleeping in my bed, but it's easier to feed them at night that way haha #lazy. And it was a new surrounding and all that). She wakes up a lot, especially when we're in Oregon because she gets cold easier there.

She loves playing with spoons, lids, and water bottles way more than any toys. I had her playing in the laundry basket for a little while, but she's over that now and just wants to be held again. Sigh. We tried putting her in a jumper and a walker, but she'd rather be held. She will go in the walker for a little while sometimes but it never lasts long. 

She's obsessed with Barbershop Quartets, particularly Jimmy Fallon and the Ragtime Gals, who only sing very inappropriate songs! I want to write to Jimmy and ask for them to do more wholesome numbers, but I think that's a big part of the joke. But she can be screaming and completely irrational and as soon as she hears the guy introducing JF and the RTGs she calms down completely and is even happy. Like IMMEDIATELY. Haha it's pretty crazy. But it's also super nice because we can listen to a variety of songs and not just "No Matter Where You Are" by Us the Duo.

She still makes her pterodactyl screeching sounds but she also jabbers a lot too. She can't wait to talk and have me understand! 

She still loves bath time and water. I didn't bring her bath chair to Oregon so she just wants to stand up for the whole bath, which is hard because I have weak arms haha. So sitting outside the bathtub and holding her up is rough, plus her feet slip a lot so it's scary too. I'm so grateful to have my mama showing me the ropes so often and I just wish we lived closer.
